Nicholas “Nick” Edward Foles (born January 20, 1989) is an NFL quarterback who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles. He is a 2007 graduate of Westlake High School, in Austin, TX, where he played both varsity football and varsity basketball. While at Westlake, he broke a number of football records previously held by an earlier alum: Drew Brees.
After playing college football at the University of Arizona, Foles entered the 2012 NFL Draft, where he was selected by the Eagles in the third round. He spent a season each with the St. Louis Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs before returning to Philadelphia. In the 2017-2018 season, after starting quarterback Carson Wentz got injured, Foles picked up the reins and led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl appearance since 2004.
Foles is the first quarterback in NFL history to get a perfect passer rating and throw seven touchdown passes in the same game.
