Melissa's Story
I work in the 12th largest school district in California (serving over 43,000 students). I specifically serve 135 teachers in the Clovis North area. My role is that of Technology Coach. I design and teach lessons to teachers so they can reteach those lessons/skills to their students. As a Tech Coach of 5 schools, I work with 3,800 students. I serve on the Digitial Citizenship Committee and I also serve on the Technolgy Design Team for the office of Curriculum, Instruction, and Accountability.
In my pursuit to advance innovate technology in the classroom, I consistently search out new and innovative tools that will enrich and enhance learning. When I discover something wonderful, I share it with anyone I can. This includes VR technology, holographic technology, online learning tools, video production, web development, collaborative learning, 3D printing, and coding (just for starters).

are innovative tools with elementary students. Research consistently states that children picture themselves following a path in their early years. This vision leads to further exploration. This leads to continued learning. And, they eventually head that direction in their high school and collegiate years. With that being said, I want elementary school children to see, use, investigate, and explore innovative technology as much as possible. Innovative technology will always be the building blocks for tomorrow.

When I'm not busy teaching teachers about technology I'm busy spending time with my family. You can catch me on the bleachers shouting for my favorites. These days will rush by in no time. They'll head off to college before I know it.
I'm taking a small break from volunteer work as I was quite busy with that for over 10 years. Just finished a Master of Education degree and I'm headed into the doctorate program in the fall (2019).
