Elaine's Story
Life.....
After VHS I finished nursing school and worked steady until forced retirement in 1992. Married at 21, a son at 22 and a divorce at 23. I married my divorce attorney and we have had 32+ years of what I would call a "pretty good life". In addition to my son, I have two married step-girls and 4 grandbabies. I am grateful that everyone is happy and healthy. After nursing, I worked PT in retail for a few years and then I work in the fuel oil industry. I have been involved in my community by serving on various boards and advocating for special needs children. I currently serve on the Vineland Zoning board as the vice-chairperson. I also maintain the Historical Archives for the Vineland Public Schools. With any spare time I have, I love to make quilts.( ...Expand for more
My husband would tell you that I love buying the fabric more than the making the quilts) My father died in 2004 and my mother is still living. 3 of my 4 sisters live nearby and one sister lives in Hayward, Ca. I have one younger living brother, and sadly, my youngest brother, the baby of the family, my rock of support whom I called "Braveheart", died in 2011 of a very rare form of cancer. He was only 43. We vacation every year in Ocean City, during the month of Sept. I enjoy walking on the beach and boards with the grandbabies where I once walked as a young girl. Could't imagine a birthday past 50. Now here I am, with my AARP card ! I try to attend every class reunion ( only missed one ) and I have maintained friendships with a number of fellow classmates.
