Leo's Story
Life
On May 12th of 2003 I was in an car accident that cracked my skull from ear to ear and caused a traumatic brain injury. I was in a coma for 10 days as a result of this (ask me what I remember!!) My family was told it would be two months before I awoke (wrong). I was supposed to be deaf, I am not. I was supposed have difficulty thinking, I don't. They didn't know when I would walk again, I am walking. My recovery from this accident has so far been unheard of. My brain was bruised and stretched from the impact yet I can still solve a Rubiks Cube in just over two minutes. I have also started playing the guitar ...Expand for more
again. Not bad for someone whose right side was paralyzed and couldn't walk back in June of 03.
I am currently happily married. The doctors have decided that continuing to try to work was deteriorating my condition. I am no longer working as a result and my condition has stabilized. Hopefully I did not incur any permanent damage as a result of trying so hard to return.
I heard from no one about the class of 1984 reunion. This is disheartening because at this point in life reuniting with old friends who knew me as I was before would be encouraging.
I currently live in South Carolina near Hilton Head.
