Donna's Story

Life I have been happily married now for nearly 42 years and am retired through disability (MS)from Thompson Coburn, LLP. I have 3 adult children and 1 granddaughter as well as twin grandbabies (boy and girl) born Jan, 2005, and a grandson born April, 2013. My husband and I live in DeSoto, MO where I in particular enjoy the smaller town atmosphere. I luckily still have many good days when I am able to almost forget that I have a health problem and I'm so grateful for that. I try to keep busy to the best of my abilities and have recently resumed more sewing and needlework type of things. I know that doesn't sound very exciting, but it's nice to be able to achieve something instead of just vegetating. I find that I really miss working outside the home and the challenges that one gets from simply having a job to go out to each day. ur family and friends. One of the things that happens when you're retired is that we have more time to wonder what has happened to old friends. What are they doing now? How are they? Do they have children, grandchildren? If there are any of my old friends out there that happen to see this, I would be very happy to hear from you. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Sherry Snead, because she was the first classmate that introduced herself to me and asked me to come to sit with her and Debbie Strite and Dawn Skaggs in first grade when I was too shy to even look around the room. Now I just try to say that a stranger is just a friend that I haven't met yet. Of course like everything else that can have a downside. We do have to use the brain to discern whether the stranger really is a friend. . I did find Sherry and was so glad to talk with her again. doing ok still and hope to see a lot of my friends at the gettogether in Sept.
