Christine's Story

Life Hey! Well I figure my old bio was getting old. Most people who want to talk to me send me their e-mail address. Then I can respond to them. I am still Happily married. Have been for 23 yrs. For those who are just getting into this classmates thing. It has been great connecting with old friends! I feel like the 2nd part of my life has a chapter closing with all my children being over 18. My husband and I are looking foward to having the house to ourselves! (IF the boys will ever LEAVE!) So now we start a new chapter. Living an older life, and doing what we want to do! It's Great! WE have our career. (truck driving) Now we raised our kids and its time for some "us" time. Figuring out "what to do" is sometimes a challenge! But I can tell you that after getting in touch with some of my friends. It's fun to review over 20 years! Finding out life's tribulations and triumphs! and how many kids everyone has. Hope everyone is doing Great who visits my bio. Now I have a Grandchild, And shes GREAT! I look foward to having fun with my Grandchildren! I wish all of you Health and Prosperity !!! God Bless you all! Chris Workplace If you read my life bio then you know I had children. I stayed at home with them until my husband got hurt on the job. I had started driving school bus before this happened . So I took my class b license and went with it. I worked at BFI in Huntsville AL for 14 months while he recooperated. Then I won 2nd place in the "Truck Rodeo" (That was so cool!)I was also the only woman at that time that had ever been able to stick it out on a recycling truck. That was the healthiest I've been since high school! Well My husband and I opened a home Repair business. That got to be slim pickins in the winter so he went to driving OTR. Thus a year later I went with him.And I have a career in truck driving. I wouldn't take a million dollars for the time at home with my children when they were young though. But I've been from Port Hadlock Wa to Florida Keys and from Long Island,NY to Calexico Ca. and alot of points in between. Worse things I hate about driving is people including other drivers who get into my space for following distance, And the tailgater who insists on putting his brand new cars headlights right in my eyes!(Through the mirrors or oncoming traffic) Then t...Expand for more
heres the states who think their state is so special, that you need to do 55 mph through them. (This is usually when I write letters and balance my checkbook etc.IT"S SO BORING.) I am contemplating getting my GED and going to business college. We'll see. I love going through South Dakota about Aug 7th. on the south west side of the state. If you know anything about scheduled events- you know why! I can tell anyone who thinks its easy- think again. Truck Driving is a way of life. Like a traveling salesman. Sometimes I am away from home for 2-3 months. MY cell phone bills are outrageous. I stay in touch with home. But I still Love my job.(Then when we get home we stay home for a week or two or three) Even if I did something else. I'd still have to make time to get out and go. Then theres that other part of the job, When you get to come home and nothing never looked so good as when you've been gone for 3 months. Even Pulaski looks good after 3 months of being gone. I got to spend alot of time with my step mom before she died from cancer from driving. I've got to meet family all over the united states that other wise I probably never would have met. I've got alot of friends from different places all over the country. And this is all great! Then when you get some wheres and your tired and nothings moving for the week end . Go get a hotel room, Experience the food and conversations from people all over. then theres the steam room and saunas, pools and pool tables. Its just great! But like I said -its a way of life. This has been Great for me. Even though my chiroprator said I can quit seeing him when I quit driving. Its rough on your back. Well maybe well be seeing you. I also watch for Tags from Tn and AL and watch for where their from in case of an emergency on their part. I've seen alot of tags from local cars and I can tell you people from AL drive alot faster then alot of other people. So know you may have a freind on the road or if your familys traveling, Maybe They'll get to run with us for a spell. My handle on the CB is lit'l Miss. has been since I was 16. I don't run with the CB on all the time but XM radio is the best thing since cable! I turn on channel 7,11,23,46 or 150,151. I love my xm radio! Its only worth it if you spend alot of time traveling. Ya'll stay safe! Chris
