Hey Everybody! You’ll have to catch me on Facebook- I can’t see your visits etc here. - Yes, I'm alive & doing well. I'm now back in the Good Ol' U S of A, out in Oklahoma. My British hubby has gone from a well seasoned veteran cop(undercover, intelligence, community patrol - teach about drugs in schools, motorcycle patrol, Public Order/Riot Control & guarding celebs & royalty) of almost 27 years in a huge metropolitan Canadian city of over 2.5 million people, to an ordained Minister & Volunteer Chaplain for Police & Fire deparments & in prison ministry, living in a small rural town of about a thousand population(if you throw in a couple of chickens & cows & dogs here & there).....how'd that happen? I love it! I volunteered for a while at our local school(K - 12) in the kindergarten class with non-english speaking children. Now working full time in a bookkeeping/tax office & involved in some exciting volunteer prison ministry in english y espanol. Have had some great support in our prison ministry through the local radio station....KLVV 89.7 the House also on the internet "triple w""DOT" thehousefm"DOT"com) - especially the "Morning Crew". I dare you to give a look/listen. Active member in our local church and manage to sqeeze in some time being a Trustee on our Town Board. My husband will...Expand for more
be finally experiencing a long awaited dream come true - he will be sworn in as an American Citizen on Sept. 29th...we are so excited & he is so honored. I'd love to hear from you and hear what's going on in your life. Sorry, I missed the last big reunion, hope to be at the next one! If you'd like to catch up....email me.
Would love to hear from any of my classmates!
With the arrival of Sept 29 '06, my husband fulfilled a longtime dream - to become a United States Citizen & wears it proudly. He has been down to New Orleans for about th 5th time - the last time strictly as a Chaplain instead of Disaster Relief Chaplain, to help at Mardi Gras time. It made a difference in some people's behavior having the noticeable presence of Chaplains in bright yellow shirts marked "Chaplain" on them. He has also accepted a job offer as a permanent substitute teacher at Autry Technology in Enid where he has substituted part-time for over a year. He wasn't looking, but they were. We have some tentative plans, after our youngest graduates from high school in 4 years to expand our ministry to include some type of after care program. I've stepped down, after 3 years, as a Trustee on the Town Board, to allow more time on other things. If you have a prayer list - please add us to it. God Bless & Keep You & Yours.
