Life
It's been a ride...
After college, I taught at Warren, AR, then Dunbar Jr. High at Little Rock.. In 1964 to the Air Force Officers Training School to become a Lieutenant, then attending a year of graduate training at the University of Oklahoma to become a meteorologist.
After serving 4 years as an officer and meteorologist in the USAF, I went to New York and worked for IBM in sales. In 1974 I joined the United Negro College Fund and was transferred to St. Louis to become Area Director responsible for all fund raising in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. After two years. I felt the need to teach again working in East St. Louis, Il for 1 year and then 3 years in Little Rock as physics teacher at Parkview High School until 1980.
I changed careers in '80 as I joined a banking software developement and facilities management company in Little Rock (Systamatics, Inc.) and was transfered to Los Angeles. After s...Expand for more
everal tactical moves in the computer industry, I now find myself Director of Information Systems for a collect phone company in Van Nuys, CA.
I am happily married to Janice Isham Stanfield, AM&N class of '62. We have been married for 7 happy years.
My grown children are Yolanda, an attorney living in Yelm, WA, and Gregg a high school counsellor living in Tulsa, OK.
God is the Center of my life. I wish I had given my life to Him years ago. I am living a blessed life. To God be the Glory.
Workplace
Started teaching in '62, officer and meteorologist in the Air Force from '64 to '68, IBM Office Products sales from '68 thru '70, UNCF from '71 thru '75, taught again from '75 to '81, changed to the field of information technology in '81 and have moved from programming thru Director of Information Systems. And now to retirement. The economy retired me at 69. I had just figured out what I was doing and how to do it :-)
