Donald's Story

dbristol 47 at AOL. COM Well as it turned out I survived the 60s and graduated from Western Michigan Univ. in 1969 with a teaching certificate. I think I was the only applicant for a science position in Mt. Clemens Schools that year and landed the job teaching 7th and 8th grade science. By 1977 I had run out of crazy roommates and bought a duplex in The Clem. A beautiful young gal, Wendy, rented the upper flat who turned out to be my wife!! We married in 1979, bought 2 more duplexes and then decided to move to Colorado in 1982. Sold everything we had and never looked back. We were blessed with Kendra in 87 and Andrew in 90. Both are now graduated from HS and planning their lives. After 39 years in the classroom I retired and loving every minute. unning or riding a bike a few days a week but my new "hobby" has been renovating old, run down log cabins in the mountains. We now have a 1918 hand-peeled rustic log cabin, a 1931 log cabin with a beautiful stone fireplace 25 miles from Breckenridge ski resort, a 1957 D-log cabin that is all TnG knotty pine on the inside. And we just bought a 1930 "summer" cabin in Conifer that we'll convert to full-time living. All of them were ready for the bulldozer when we bought them but it has been fun restoring them to their original character. At this time they are all rented until the market changes... PRAY! LIFE IS BUSY WITH 2 TEENS BUT FUN! THE 'THEN' PICTURE WAS TAKEN IN 1976 WHILE VISITING IN COLORADO. THE CURRENT PICTURE IS FROM DEC. 2004.
