Beth's Story

Wow, I've experienced so many things I hardly know where to begin. I've been to Asia and Europe and numerous states throughout the U.S. After graduating from H.S. I attended college for one year, but found it difficult to continue since I delivered my first child between the two semesters. Of course I do regret not completing college (and perhaps will return some day), but not having my degree has pushed me to learn so many things that I probably wouldn't have otherwise. I'm a licensed general contractor in the state of Florida and built houses and conducted renovations for more than 10 years. I LOVE to draw house plans and probably should have gone to school for architecture and the like. I can do just about anything physically that is required to build a house in Florida. (But I don't do roofs-scary!) I have worked as a licensed Real Estate Agent and have taken courses related to real estate investing. I love to watch the real estate market and make predictions, it's been especially interesting over the past few years. I hesitate to admit that I've been divorced twice. The first was a youthful mistake, I'm just not quite sure whether the mistake was the marriage or the divorce... :) We won't go into the second, as it's taken several years for me to forgive, get back on my feet and move on. I am, however, fortunate to have 4 great kids who all love each other - so the negatives of my past are easily cancelled out by that! My children: Brian (21), Amanda (20), Chelsea (16) & Dylan (14). Although I hope it's not too soon, my next experience concerning children will be grandchildren. I can't wait; love 'em and send them home! Soon after having my first two children (18+ years ago), I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. I have been here ever since and absolutely love it. Georgeous weather, most of the time, makes it the perfect spot for someone who loves the outdoors as much as I do. Even if means just sitting outside on my swing to read a book, I just love the feeling of the outdoors. OK, an occasional margarita while reading a book on the swing is great too! If you ever come to sunny South Florida, be sure to look me up, I'll have a margarita waiting for you too. Being a single mom has had its challenges, but lord knows ...Expand for more
that 'challenge' is my middle name. If it seems impossible, I'm likely to try it and master it. Many of my friends tell me I'm the most talented person they know, and I'll keep learning new talents in order to keep that title! I love researching new topics on the Internet and have a thirst to know at least a little bit about everything. I've been in the process of writing a few books, yes I said a 'few'. My mind moves so quickly that when I get deadlocked on one, I begin with the next idea that pops into my head. I'll finish them all and I hope you'll give them a read. I'm more of a non-fiction person, but I can promise an entertaining read. I'm currently an Assistant Manager for a local restaurant in the evenings. Although I planned for the job to be much more temporary than it's turned out to be, it pays the bills for now. Over the last three years I have held two full time jobs. I've worked as an Administrator for a Literary Agency and as a Controller for a construction company during the day, until each company fell victim to the poor economy. Unfortunately, upon taking the Controller position for the construction company I was already made aware of their imminent bankruptcy but was challenged to close as many contracts as possible before the final day. Remember what I said about my middle name?! My current chapter has me running my own company in the health and dental benefits field. I have a contract with the largest company in the country to sell their products and recruit and train new agents. My company focuses on those who cannot afford insurance. (hint: 47 million U.S. residents) Our goal is to reach everyone that needs help affording their health and dental care, and we won't stop until we've succeeded with our mission. My children are by my side and help a great deal with supporting me and participating in events. As I mentioned earlier, I'm an open book! Drop me a line. I've been so busy raising/supporting my children and leading such a busy life, that I have had little time to keep in touch with more than just a few of you. But now that the kids are older and much more self sufficient, I finally have some time for me. So give me a shout, tell me what you're up to and let's see what we have in common!
