Barbara's Story

Life Hi to all my friends from my grade school days at Guardian Angels to my high school years at Dominican High! I'ts been a long time and the years sure have flown by! I've been married for 36 years now to my husband, Ron. We have 3 kids - Ronnie (35), Cherie (23), and Brian (21). We have 2 dogs - Romeo, a Bichon Frise and Brandi, a Brittany Spaniel/Irish setter mix. At one time, we had 3 dogs, before our Heidi, a Golden retriever mix passed on. Yes, we do love dogs! We presently live in Eastpointe. Our oldest son, Ronnie, has been married for 6 years and just recently became a 1st time dad. Our handsome little grandson, Brendan, was born 6/28/05. Our daughter, Cherie, just received her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from Wayne State. Now, she's going for her Doctorate Degree and she'll graduate in 2007. ys hockey, actually wheelchair hockey, since 1998. He has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and our family is very committed to assisting and supporting him, in every way possible. We're all very involved with MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) and we support and attend many MDA sponsored events. Brian has been on the local MDA Labor Day Telethons since he was 8 years old and also attends MDA camp at Camp Cavell in Lexington, MI. I'm very interested and involved with issues regarding handicapped persons and their rights, and how to support and accommodate them to help them gain more independence. I also do alot of volunteer work with the WCHL, the wheelchair hockey league. We have 5 teams, with both male and female players, and with a variety of disabilities. It's very rewarding to be associated with this hockey league. I would love to hear from old friends and catch up on what's happening in their lives!
