Ian's Story
Life
When I attended Port Charlotte HS, I was considered a dork. I was spit on, picked on, and trusted very few to call a friend. Alot of it was due to being in the JROTC. I saw my grades dropping from this and started skipping classes, eventually school. This led to further grade drops with an eventual dropout. At 14 years old, I made a life changing decision. I moved to Michigan and went to school at Loy Norrix HS. This, I think, was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I started over. Some thought I became the teachers pet with some of my classes. I still kept to myself, keeping only a few people close. I hit the wrestling team my sophomore and junior year, followed by JV football. With the change in the life I had, I worked it out with a couple teachers to be able to gain extra credits towards graduation. Thanks to Mrs. Morgan and Mr. Passomato, I managed to slip by and graduate January of my senior year, immediately following my enlistment into the U.S. Marine Corps that March.

aspired to be. Since then, I've been putting to use the skills I learned in Mrs. Morgan's Business Services class. Her teachings have led me to be promoted to sergeant within my first enlistment.
When I got to my first duty station, I got married, had a boy, and was divorced (when she said I do, she didnt). Eventually, 5 years down the road, I met my current wife in Hawaii. We now have a little one on the way, due in December. Six months later, I found myself deploying to Iraq to do my share with freeing Iraq.
With the short time that I have been here, I had met several Iraqi people. Very nice, caring, respectable people. After meeting them, I now realize why we are out here.
I had also learned what the importance of keeping in touch with family is. Out here, you don't have the luxory of being able to turn around or pick up the phone to talk to loved ones. The only way for some of us to communicate with family is through email. Some dont even have that. Contact with the family does alot for morale. Even friends.
Okay, I've run my suck long enough. Go read my announcement.
