Beth's Story

Life I moved to Richmond two weeks after graduation and stayed there for 5 years. I live in Irvine now. I'm divorced and have no children. School I preferred to blend in most of the time, so lots of people don't remember me! I did play flute and piccolo in marching, concert, and pep bands. College I received my BA in English (9-12 teaching)/philosophy minor in 1993. I received my MA in English (American and British Literature) in May 1997. I actually finished in December of 1996, but I ended up having emergency surgery two ...Expand for more
days before my comps, so I had to wait another semester to graduate! I participated in the National Writing Project in summer 2004. Maybe I'll go back again some day. Workplace I've never had a job outside the education field. In college I did some work as a English tutor. I was a substitute teacher (MS/HS) for one year, taught high school for one year, switched to homebound teaching the next year, and finally settled in as a middle school language arts teacher in 1996. I teach language arts at Estill County Middle School.
