Michelle's Story
Life
Studied Civil Engineering at FAMU/FSU 1988-1993. In 1993 lived outside the state for the first time and spent 5 years in the Washington, DC, area working for GTE, the American Plastics Council, the Waste Policy Center and parttime throughout for Home Depot to pay off undergrad and save for grad school. After our 10 yr reunion I moved home to spend a year with my 98 year old grandfather and met my Boston-raised husband at Home Depot in Merritt Island, just five miles from where I was born. back to school and took a road trip across country with my 16 year-old half-sister before enrolling. Paul and I were engaged and moved to Tallahassee so I could finish a degree in Env Eng. I finished in spring 2000 and we married in a small ceremony in Las Vegas May 2001. Paul and I celebrated our first anniversary in Italy and I gave birth to our daughter on New Years Day 2003. We just celebrated the birth of our second child, a boy, and are still living in Tallahassee and hope to raise our two children here.
