Edward's Story

Life: Ok, so you got to see some photos from pretty much every stage of my life except for my birth and my tombstone... fine - you had your laughs. lol I'm not old, just older - and always a teenager at heart. Here's a brief overview of my life: After attending grades 1-6 at P.S. 200, I then went on to grades 7 and 9 (skipped 8) at Cavallaro JHS 281 and then on to Lafayette High School. After High School, I went on to earn my BBA in Management (minor in Business Law) and MBA in Computer Systems at Baruch College. During my Undergraduate studies I worked evenings at Macy's in King's Plaza and went to Grad School in the evenings while working fulltime at Lewco Securities in Lower Manhattan. I currently work at MetLife (since 1991) as Techology Vendor Manager and Manager of Telecom Engineering and have well over 20 years of telecom experience. Prior to that I worked at Lewco Securites as Director of Telecommunications and prior to that at Thomson McKinnon Securities as a Telecommunications Network Engineer. I still play and watch and attend all major sports (My teams are Mets, Jets, Rangers and Knicks) and still play electric guitar (haven't played violin for several years now) and still love Rock n' Roll, Jazz and Classical music. I love Thoroughbred horse racing and sponsor an annual race at Belmont Park in memory of my late Dad each July (you're all invited to come). I'm still single, though not through lack of trying (more due to my continued lack of good looks). I have no kids of my own, but have two awesome nephews that mean the world to me. I still reside in Brooklyn. I still love trying to make people laugh whenever possible and love smiling and laughing myself whenever possible (or appropriate - lol). I live by the following: "Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today" and "What doesn't kill me only serves to make me stronger" and most of all, "Expect nothing, Blame nobody, Do Something!". I prefer to think outside the "box". I don't like being inside the "box". I don't even like touching the "box". I don't even want to be near the "box". I don't even want to see the "box". I hate the "box". LOL I will generally try anything at least once. Oh God no! - except that! (not that there's anything wrong with that if you're into it) LOL I'll eat just about anything from Kraft Mac N' Cheese to Fois Gras (although Vegan cuisine takes a bit of effort - lol). I have learned to appreciate what I have and not to complain about what I don't have. I do, however, have a "mild" dislike for overseas outsourcing. If I call one more Customer Care Unit and am transfered to "Bruce" in India, I think I will slit my wrist with a butter knife. lol I am a generally upbeat, caring, genuine, generous, easygoing and caring person and, most of all, a loyal friend and family member. Life's too short to be any other way. My personality is probably best described as a cross between Chandler from "Friends" and Jessie from "Full House". In general, life is good but would always be far better with the reacquaintance of an old friend (possibly you). The amount of time that has past since last we spoke is already gone and we can do nothing to turn back the hands of time -but we can make sure that no more time passes. Do not wait until tomorrow. Too many tomorrows have already come and gone. TODAY is yesterday's tomorrow! Please give me a shout to catch up (or to start over). I WILL email or call you back. Hope all's well with you (whomever you are - lol) and your loved ones. Eddie School So many memories that it's tough to sum up... would be more fun to discuss live with you... but in any case, here's a sample: Grammar School ============ Who was your biggest crush? priate to post publicly. I was a kid, I had a new crush every week. lol Which teacher inspired you most? With out a moment's hesitation or question - Sylvia LaCerra. She really cared about her kids. She taught and encouraged all of the right things such as creativity, good sportsmanship, generousity, positive reinforcement, art, music etc. My life has become all that she instilled in me (along with my parents and family of course). And if you could do it all over again, would you? Absolutely, but with one major change. Knowing what I know now about how friends are seemingly lost forever so quickly, I would never let any of my childhood friends disappear from my life. Spill your funniest, happiest, and craziest school memories here: Too many to talk about. For goodness sakes, it was grammar school, everything was awesome. Dodgeball, whiffle ball, pixie football, relay races, recess, milk and cookies, delivering milk in the morning, wearing a badge as safety patrol member, walking to Sabarro's for lunch once a week with buddies, finding the occasional adult magazine on the street, running from "crazy" Vinny (who wasn't crazy at all - just a kind gentle sole with a disability), watching Mrs Schimmel stand by the exit at the top of the stairs taking the sun burning her skin to a crisp, getting candy from Mrs LaCerra's desk for answering a question correctly, flutes, recorders, melodicas and resonator bells, picture day, dioramas, peep boxes, heads down thumbs up, ringoleevio, stoop ball, class trips, snow days, ordering books to read, no-homework on Friday, dance festival, white shirts and red ties for assembly, baseball cards, spit balls, passing notes, cooties, skeeves shots, white paste, crayons, macaroni art, making a turkey by tracing your hand, finger painting, writing in script, Popsicle stick houses, click clacks, yo-yos, pledge of allegiance, Tony's candy store, 5 cent candy, first crushes, first friends, pre-tests and re-tests, citywide tests, hearing tests (raise you hand when you hear the beep), those red tablets to chew to see if you brushed you teeth well, class elections, rubber book straps, writing with a pen instead of a pencil, that old milky stink of the cafeteria, well you get the point by now... lol. It was all great! Junior High School was OK, but nothing special. I was only there for 2 years so nothing much to report. I suppose the best thing was learning to play Violin and us winning best Orchestra in the City. High School: ========= Who was your biggest crush? Not really appropriate to post publicly. Which teacher inspired you most? I'd have to say my A.P. Bio teacher, Mr Aninowski for a strange reason. I used to torment the poor guy and rather than chastise or punish me for it, he embraced and darn near encouraged it. I did learn a lot about biology, but also learned that a good sense of humor is important as well. He was a friend to all of us and always had a smile on his face. And if you could do it all over again, would you? Yes, but again, knowing what I know now, I wouldn't let my friends slip away and would have gotten to know certain people much better. Spill your funniest, happiest, and craziest school memories here: Same as grammar school, it was High School, it was all great. Selling pretzels from the S.O. store, roller skating in the hall way, dressing up a skeleton and making it wave to though the classroom windows, physics class egg drop, jumping from the balcony, comradary, The Lasagna Bowl, broadcasting football games with Mitch, cheerleaders, Algebra? (uugh), Senior day, career day, hormones, hormones, hormones, oops sorry, hanging out in the bleachers, Polar bear club, orchestra, diner menu from creative writing, Graduation day, great fun, great friends!
