Adam's Story
Life
Well, as everyone knows when I left Saranac in 1995, I had gone from Reserve to the Active duty Army and stayed in the Army until 2004. I had a great time in the Army and really accomplished a lot. My time in Special Forces is what stands out most in my mind. I was able to travel to many different places such as Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Jordan, Kuwait, and Iraq. I was lucky to be a part of the Iraqi invasion and made it out without a scratch. Unfortunately Special Forces was starting to operate like "Big Army" and I thought it was time to leave. I was blessed to get a job immediately with the Phoenix police department where I trained and worked for 3 years. I have that Adventurer bug in me though and after 3 years of stasis needed a change so I applied and was accepted because of my background as an independant security contractor in Iraq. So now I'm currently back in Iraq working for Blackwater USA on a State Department contract. I have the excitement back and the pay is really good. I miss my family though. My work schedule is 3 months in Iraq and 1 month vacation. My wife and I had our first child on March 5. I little girl we named Addisyn Grace. She's perfect and I love her to death. Thats all from me, I'll talk to you all later.

ice department on the "south side" where as we like to say..."all crime leads back to south phoenix." It's amazing the type of animals I get to deal with every day. The job is definitely more satisfying, working down south, than it was working in North Phoenix before my Blackwater boondoggle.
Update: Since August 2009 I've left patrol and have been working as a detective in the Property Crimes section (Thefts, fraud, burglaries, etc..). It not one of the sexier assignments but it's a stepping stone for other assignments.
December 13, 2009 Jen, Addisyn, and I welcomed Emma Faith into our family. I'm now in a house surrounded by women!
February 2011, I'm now working in the Departments Document crimes detail (ID theft, forgery, fraud schemes, etc.) and with the US Secret Service on the Arizona Electronic Crimes Task Force. I'm also now a member of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators. I like this detail because the investigations are complex, and it's actually more exciting than it sounds. Gang bangers, crack heads, and tweekers are starting to go to paper crimes because the pay off is greater, it's harder to get caught, and the consequences aren't as severe as the violent crime they use to commit for money.
