Socorro's Story
Life
Well, I began my career as an oil and gas accountant my last year at UTEP, at El Paso Natural Gas Company (now El Paso Energy). I accepted a transfer to Fort Worth with a then-sister company in November, 1987. I stayed in the DFW area until another transfer in late 1993 brought me to my current home in Houston. I am a CPA. I haven't yet married, but do have a daughter, Paloma, who was born in 1995. My daughter and I usually make it to El Paso in December ...Expand for more
(maybe we'll run into each other at Cielo Vista Mall or the movies...). In 1992, I began practicing Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism with SGI-USA. Over the years, I've managed to keep in touch with some of my high school classmates - Melody Marez, Margie Miramontes, and Dora Baca. Recently, via this website, I had the great fortune to reunite with other old friends - Amparo Gutierrez, Hortencia Gutierrez and Gracie Esqueda. I hope to see y'all at our next reunion !!
