Florence's Story
BATH, Maine -- Florence Arlene (Buzzo) Ludwig, died September 21, 2012.She was born August 28, 1926 in Middletown, CT, the daughter of Thomas and Arlene Buzzo. She graduated from Wethersfield H.S. in 1944 and The University of Connecticut in 1948 with a Math degree. She went to work in the Actuarial Department of The Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance in Hartford. On September 10, 1949, she married Paul W. Ludwig a marriage which lasted 63 years. They had three children, Philip of Canton, CT, Pamela of Waitsfield, VT, and Thomas of Brunswick. She also leaves twin grandchildren, Ryan and Erin, and daughter-in-law, Kathy, all of Canton; and her husband, Paul. She worked for many years for Dr. L. Rodger Currie, dentist in Chelmsford, MA, and later as a travel agent in Westford, MA. . She enjoyed swimming, boating, golf and membership at the Nashua Country Club in NH and the Brunswick Golf Club. She was an ardent bridge player and attained the status of Silver Life Master. She won quite a few sectional and regional championships. Florence and her husband, Paul, ran bridge games on cruise ships. They traveled extensively, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Bermuda and Europe. Florence's body is being donated to The University of NE College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford. At her request, funeral service will be private. Donations may be sent to The Hospice House Development Fund at CHANS Hospice Care, 60 Baribeau Dr., Brunswick.
