Neil's Story
Life
**Attended Trent University and graduated in 1989 with B.A. in history and political studies. I enjoyed myself thoroughly at Trent and discovered the joys of essay writing as a hobby. I was certainly never one to allow my schooling to interfere with my education and played intramural hockey at the extreme lowest skill level ever imaginable. We spent more time designing the team jerseys for the Traill Boingers and the Traill Postbusters than we ever did practising hockey.
**Attended Waterloo Lutheran Seminary and graduated in 1994 with Master of Divinity. During my studies at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary I lived in Kitchener, Waterloo and served as the vicar of Zion Lutheran Church in Sault Ste. Marie, ON during my internship year.
**Ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada and currently serving the congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Reformation in Kitchener, ON. This is my 3rd parish since I was ordained in June 1994. I have served as the pastor of the Mildmay-Neustadt Lutheran Parish (a two point parish made up of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mildmay and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neustadt); St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in ...Expand for more
Cambridge, ON and now as the pastor of Reformation in Kitchener.
**married to Kathryn since 1996 and we are the proud parents of Charlotte (born 2 JAN 2000), our dachshund Tuffy and a purebred mutt named Marigold.
**we own a home in the Doon Mills area of Kitchener, Ontario
**actively involved in the historical re-enacting community as a member of the King's Royal Regiment of New York, a recreation of a Loyalist Regiment of the American Revolution. I serve as both a musketman in the ranks of the "hat company" and also as the Regimental Chaplain. I was recently honoured by the Regiment as "The Yorker of the Year" for my work in researching and creating the service for the consecration of our new Regimental Colours in June of 2004. You can find out more about us on the web. Just type Royal Yorkers into your favourite search engine and we'll appear.
**I am the chairman of the board of directors of Edgewood Camp & Conference Centre, Inc. -- this is the same place I worked as a counsellor-in-training during the summer of 1985 and the camp at which I was a camp counsellor in the summer after graduating from Bayside Secondary in 1986. The camp property is located in Eden Mills, Ontario.
