Kathleen's Story

Mar. 2014..... Hello to all my Bremen Class of 63 friends. I have never taken the time to post to my profile and since our 50th Reunion my Bremen classmates have been on my mind. My life since high school has been good. I will be married 49 years this August. My husband, Ed, and I have a daughter and son and 5 grandchildren. We have lived in New Lenox since 1970. I was a bookkeeper for 37 years... 17 with our local Park District and then 20 with Lincolnway High School. In my younger days I loved to downhill and cross country ski. I have been a avid walker for almost 35 years. In 2006 while out for one of those walks, I was badly injured...Expand for more
and spent several years getting back to normal. The Lord shined His light on me and I have recovered completely. I am now so grateful for each and everyday. Being forced to slow down for a time was indeed a gift. We learn what is really important in life. Through all these years I have been able to keep in touch with many Markham and Bremen friends. Thanks to some very dedicated classmates, we have had many wonderful reunions. The 50th was amazing. That old saying.."If I knew then what I know now".......rings true. Oh, to have just a little of that time back. I know I would spend less time with the books and more time with the friends.

This little beauty was given to me about 5 yrs. ago by my brother from his garden in Monument CO. It survived the 2 day trip home but did not flourish. Each year I gave it another chance, but no flowers.....until last year
