Rick's Story
Life
One month after graduating from "Gabes" in 1970, we moved to South Georgia where my Mom's family lives. Went to Jr. College in Tifton, Ga then to Ga. Southern and graduated in 1974. Went to work for Georgia Power right out of college in 1974 and have been here for 29 years ( a very short job change into retail but came back to Ga. Power.)I now live in Woodstock, Ga just 30 miles north of downtown Atlanta. I married for the first, and only, time in 1994 to Belinda. We have a beautiful nine pound Yorkshire "Terrorist" Murfi. Mom and Dad have both passed as well as Belinda's Mom.
Turning 50 in August, 2002 makes the number seem a lot younger than it used to! I'm looking forward to seeing some of you in the near future as we work to put some sort of reunion together.

Working on putting together a Reunion has been extremely rewarding as I make contact with all of you in our Class of "70". After we moved from Detroit, I pretty much left Detroit behind which I wish now I had kept in touch. But better late than never.
The great news, beside the fact that we WILL have a reunion, is that my wife and father-in-law have enrolled me in a Detroit Tigers Fantasy Baseball Camp this coming January in florida where I'll practice/play ball/and have adult beverages with 20 or so Tigers from the original 1968 Championship Team! Maybe I'll finally learn to hit!!

Workplace
The first two years after we moved from Detroit to Tifton, Ga., I attended a small community college and worked two jobs while living at home. I then went to Georgia Southern University near the Ga. Coast and finished college there. I went to work for Ga. Power after graduating but quit them in 1976 to work in RETAIL!! Finally returned to Ga. Power in 1978 :) I'm currently a Client Manager for the company and work with 25 of our largest accounts such as the Ga. Dome. I enjoy my work especially now that my office is only 15 minutes from the house instead of the 1 - 1 1/2 hours it was for EIGHT YEARS! It's hard to believe I'm near the retirement possibility as we all are, I CAN'T be that old!
