Heather's Story

Life Currently Im back in Texas! Married twice and 2nd marriage divorce pending. I have lived on the east coast of Florida since August 1998. Currently, I'm a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (Executive Director) Honestly, I feel like I went to law school for nursing homes! Before that, I was a facialist self employed since 1996. I received my MS (really an MBA) at Lynn University for Health Care Administration. Upon graduation with my masters (2003). I love to travel, scuba dive and fish and hunt. No children just a cat..she is somewhere outside! I hope to see everyone soon! Heather (Hubbell) Stokes School Believe it or not it was Mrs. Kelch. At first I thought she was the meanest typing teacher ever. Then after her previous spouse died due to illness she was nice. Maybe caring for him, she lacked sleep and did not have any patience for teenagers. Honestly we were the worst class I think she had! I had her for business math and was in journalism and got really close with her. She took us to the nursing home to visit monthly. That opened my eyes later the changes and improvements that need to be made. For years she always asked my step grandmother (Gloria Randolph) about me, I really thought she did not like us at the time! College I remember many of times in College (undergrad) at the University of North Texas and TWU my room mate and...Expand for more
I worked in Dallas 3 nights a week and after work 1am went to the 24 tanning salon for a tan and then off to Dunkin Doughnuts then back to Denton to our dorm by 4am!!!! I turn into a pumpkin now at 10pm! Deborah McInnis lives now West Coast of Florida and is Occupational Therapist, we still keep in contact after all these years! Workplace from Mazzios Pizza cashier (entry level) to running a facility with 160 employees as ED (Executive Director). Currently unemployed and rolling around the world like a stone gathering no moss by choice! sometimes I think about eliminating all my work experience and all my college just so I would qualify for an entry level job again with little liability, less than 40 hours and a major cut in pay. I just can't imagine that I would be where I'am today. from days of $3.15 hour to salary over.... well lets say more than most make. I'm currently working in home health care making 1/8 of my recent salary. Thanks to "The Great Recession" and "The War of the Roses" divorce still pending and "The Great Move with Zero Contacts in my Field". At least the job is rewarding and making a difference in the families life. God is in control and he has big plans ahead. The setback is only temporary, yes even a college degree, great GPA and experience is not a shelter from set backs, but it does make the comeback alot quicker!
