Life
My Pets
I had a black lab/chow dog for several years but was without an animal for a few years after having to put down the dog. Recently acquired a semi-long haired grey cat and he keeps me entertained (on his terms).
My Kids
I have a daughter Paula who has blessed me with a grandson Dylan who has graduated from high school and now out in the "real world" - and a granddaugher Abbey who was born about an hour before the alumni banquet in 2000. I also have a son Dale who has blessed me with 3 grandchildren - Donny, who was 13 when we lost him in an accident; Deanna, born November 2000; and Daniel, born July 1, 2003. My Job
My husband and I were self-employed and had our own printing business for 27 years. I closed the shop a year after Dan's death but I began working as a clerk at our local Dollar General store. I do that to finance the Santa Fe depot which I purchased a few years ago. A non-profit group was organized to manage the depot affairs and the property has been deeded to the organization. We have the Cannonball Welcome Center and a railroad museum in the building. We've had numerous events there plus a couple of excursion trains out of Wichita. I am a member of several railroad related groups which keeps me busy attending some of their events.
