Carole's Story
Life
Briefly, left Detroit for NYC in 1964. Couldn't afford it working for Citibank. Back to Detroit in 1965. Left again in 1967 for Ohio. From there to D.C. Married Bob Morgan (like me, a California native) in 1993, quit working for the USGovt in 1995 when we built a house in the Blue Ridge in a golf/ski community. Gorgeous scenery. 4 yrs later moved to Bend, OR where we built another house. We liked Bend but it is remote. After 3 years we moved to Monument, CO (at 7500 feet) which is north of Colorado Springs. Loved it, but Bob's "grands" are on the East Coast and we wanted to see them more often. So, after 4 yrs we moved to Tellico Village near Knoxville. Wonderful community. Interestingly, more than 50% of homeowners have a MI connection. Anyway, to talk Bob into leaving CO we got a boat (another guy-toy to add to his collection of a '93 Mazda RX7 twin turbo and his Harley and my '...Expand for more
06 Mazda MX5 which he insisted I needed). Although we prefer CO weather to TN, we love seeing the kids, ages 24, 16 and 14. Great fun! For kix, we travel a lot (by car around the US/Canada and cruising to interesting destinations). We have a Lhasa Apso named Rambo who is 8 and just a delight. Bob graduated from West Point and after 12 years in the Corps of Engineers, he joined the Atomic Energy Commission as a civilian, now the Department of Energy, retiring in 1988. Then spent some years as Prez of a small company. We both quit working fulltime in 1995. Bob still does consulting, mostly at Los Alamos National Lab. I'm in a knitting group(I'll never be really good at it) and I play Scrabble with a women's group and we play Mexican Train with other couples (mostly a social thing). We have good friends on our street. We are most appreciative of all the blessings we have. Life is terrific!
