Mary's Story
Life
I have lived in a little town in California called Antioch for twenty years now. We were only going to be here max, five years. It is located on the San Joaquin River about 45 mile east of San Francisco.
I have a daughter named Lacey. She just turned sweet 16.
I still haven't done all of the things I was going to do when I got out of high school. Life sure gets in the way.
I got married in 1982 to Douglas Baldwin. He was from Michigan and we were married for twenty three years. He passed away last year after a short illness. My parents have both passed away also. Some of you may remember my dad (Bob Dunn) if you lived out in the White Tanks. He was a contractor and built quite a lot of the homes out there.
My sister Barbara and I were very active in The White Tanks Saddle Club. I was Queen 1975. We rode with the Drill Team in the Avondale Parade that year and had our picture in the paper.
I still walk everywhere with my nose in a book, reading. Can't seem to get a way from that. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't read. The people that I work with think I am totally bonkers and my daughter calles me the waling encyclopedia. Wait a minute. I think I might have read that once.
