Bryan Michael Block has been an active part of the Columbus, Ohio creative community for more than twenty years.
In 2001 he consolidated his various talents and creative business endeavors under the company names Shortwave Productions and Shortwave Pictures and continues to provide freelance work and creative services in video, film, audio, music, acting and consulting.
Bryan began his professional production career with staff positions at two of Columbus' most respected video production facilities, Horizons Companies and SOS Productions. He left in 2001 after he was accepted to the visual communications program, at American University in Washington, D.C.. He returned to Columbus in 2002 to complete his B.A. in Interactive Communication Processes at the Ohio State University.
As a freelance professional, Bryan Michael has provided production services for various projects ranging from in-house production for the NHL Columbus Blue Jackets, to working for national clients with crews from New York and L.A., to international clients such as TV Nippon (Japan) on film and video shoots in and around Columbus. He continues to serve a wide variety of local clients with production work in various capacities. Currently he is employed as a writer, director, and producer with PMG Communications.

His professional projects have included music composition, scoring, jingle writing, and audio for video production industrials, independent film, scoring for television and creating radio jingles for local businesses.
As a performer, Bryan Michael has also become an experienced character actor appearing in locally produced independent films, and he has become a seasoned voice-over talent, providing narration and character impersonations for clients such as Chase Manhattan, McGraw-Hill, Southwestern College Publishing, and the Children's Bible multimedia products.
While working with the Greater Columbus Arts Council, where he was an artist member for two years in their acclaimed ÂChildren of the Future Americorps Program, Bryan Michael contributed his skills as a writer, director, and composer by creating and producing two original musical plays for children as well as the video project "Don't let Hate Become a Monster" for the S.A.V.E. foundation. He has also provided volunteer video work for The Columbus Historical Society and MORPC.
Running a successful freelance business requires other proficiencies as well, and Bryan Michael brings a solid project management and technical skill set to every production environment. He has contributed to a wide range of projects in various capacities ranging from graphic design and digital imaging to audio and video editing and production, art department, technical support and 2nd assistant director support roles in large scale commercial film projects in and around central Ohio.
