Linda's Story
Life
I married Jerry Whitaker on January 22, 1972. He graduated from WHS in 1964 and retired from the army in October 1987.
We live in central Georgia and have two grown children. Our daughter, Sharon, is married, has a 13 year old son, and lives in Florida.
Our son, Jeffrey, is married and lives in a neighboring city.
I've worked mostly part time outside of the home, preferring to be an at home mom. Now I like being able to travel to see my grandson frequently and be a doting grandma!
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
I like to read and listen to my oldies collection,
I wasn't wild in high school at all. Not until I started at Golden West College did I start 'acting out'. ;-)
My hero was my maternal grandmother. She was great!
I've lived in Michigan, California (of course), Colorado, Texas, W. Germany, and Georgia. Jerry was in the army for 22 years and we moved quite a bit.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Paula Martin, because I still love her like a sister..
I love my dog, a Malese and Lhasa Apso mix. She's great!

If I could improve my home, I'd upgrade the windows, close in my back porch, and add an in ground swimming pool.
My dream home would be have a main floor and finished basement. I'd love an inground pool that is enclosed for swimming year around. It would have solar panels to heat the water.
I'd love to see Mr. DeWenter again. He was my favorite teacher because of his humor and how he made me want to learn all he had to share.
If I won $100 million dollars, I would tithe 10% to church work, extra for mission field work, pay off my current debts, help out family and friends, give to the ASPCA and other charities close to my heart, and then get a new home and vehicles!
I am currently 57.
If I got one do-over, I would have gotten my Associate in Arts degree and become a legal secretary.
I met Paula Martin when we first moved from Michigan to Westminster. I met her at Johnson Intermediate School. Why we clicked? We each saw something in the other that said 'here's a friend for life'.
My first job was as a car hop at A&W Rootbeer stand on Westminster Av. It was fun and I met some really great people who worked there and were my customers.
