Dennis's Story
College
Attended Long Beach City College via the apprenticeship program at Long Beach Naval Shipyard. Received Associates of Science degree in Machine Technology.
Workplace
After graduation, started work at Ford Motor Co. in 1968. Drafted U.S. Army 1969. After the service, went back to Ford in 1971. Plant shut down in 1980, took an inside machinist apprenticship at Long Beach Naval Shipyard in October of 1980. Transferred to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (Bremerton, WA.) in 1984, where I am currently employed as a Production Machinery Mechanic . Retired in Oct of 2008

step, I've got 8 kids. Numerous grand kids and a couple of great-grands. Washington State is a great pa]=lace to live and retirement is wonderful, everyone should do it. My '68 Mustang is running pretty good. The '73 Volvo Sports wagon is running really good. I'd ride the Harley Sportster more, but it kills my back (getting old definitely isn't for wimps, but it sure beats the alternative! Wouldn't mind going back to do it all over again, knowing then what I know now (it would make me dangerous, right?).But high school was great, had we only known what was waiting for us in the future, we'd have probably drug it out a little longer before graduating. To all of you who don't remember me, dig out your year book. I no longer have red hair, but I do still have hair! Feel free to respond.
