Betty Sue's Story
Life
My husband and I have retired and are living in East TN in the Smoky Mountains! We moved into our 'retirement' dream home in May 2009, one week after celebrating our 5th Anniversary!
I have three wonderful kids (all grown and on their own) and six absolutely adorable grandchildren, ranging in age from thirteen years down to my newest granddaughter who was born May 10, 2010. My oldest son (age 32) completed his stint in the Coast Guard and is now working in the IT field and is very happily married to my wonderful daughter-in-love. My youngest son (age 31) served in the Navy and is now a personal trainer! My daughter (age 28) is absolutely my very best 'girl' friend and I thank God every day for our close relationship and she is also a wonderful Mommy to my precious granddaughter, Madi!!.
Even though I feel like I'm still in my 20's (ok, maybe 30's) - who knew that "LIFE IN OUR 50's" would be such fun? I remarried six years ago, after five years of being happily single, and I'm now enjoying doing things that I would never h...Expand for more
ave done when I was younger - like riding the zipline through the top of the jungle in Costa Rica....that was tooooo cool, or taking a submarine to the bottom of the ocean to check out shipwrecks!!!! Can't wait to see what my next adventure will be!!
I have recently become an 'extreme couponer' and love the 'thrill of the deal'!! I've cut our grocery bill from $465 per month to about $100 per month - and we now have a pantry that is overflowing and we now buy name brands and not store brands!!! I love my life!!
When I'm not 'couponing', I am scrapbooking and enjoying every minute of it!!
When I'm not couponing or scrapbooking, I am usually online
researching and planning our trips and/or adventures! If we aren't 'on a trip', then we are 'planning a trip'!! YEP, life is GRAND!!
It was so much fun to see everyone that made it to our 35th reunion and I'm already looking forward to our next reunion!!
I'd love to hear from any classmates and friends from the 'good ole days'....Please drop me a note or look me up on Facebook!!!
