Lillian's Story
Life
My Spouse:
I met him through mutural friends that I was living with in late 1976. We were married in Eugene on February 24,1979.
My Pets:
I have a box turtle that was very abused and I had him since 1987. He was about 7 at the time. His name is Speedy. (UPDATE-3-29-05: Speedy died yesterday).
I have 2 domestic indoor cats plus 7 indoor cats from a feral cat outside whom along with 13 other feral cats I feed. Their names from the mother feral cat are: Bahneetah,Charr,Ebbonny,Rhoamin,Sassee,Jazpyr, and Six (I call him "My Little Six Boy") plus the other 2 indoor cats are Whyskrs and Tipper. We got Whyskyrs when he was a little kitten an he blessed us with ring worms. What a chore and expense to get rid of them! Several of our other cats got them also along with us so of course we quarrentined our house until they were all gone. It took time but now we are free from that! I have taken the responsibility and had them ALL fixed. Tipper was our neighbor's cat who adopted us. The owner is an elderly man who was in and out of the hospital at that time so we rescued his cat who was dying from loneliness. He was so under weight and just laid out in the rain. We brought him into our home and got him well and now he is happy, healthy, and fat. His owner said to just keep him and he would pay vet bills if needed. And my Six; he ran away in May 2004. He disappeared for one week exactly and when he showed up, he was as wild as feral cat could be. His eyes were so big and I couldn't get close to him anymore. m and it took me 17 months to get him to trust me again. Finally he came into the house again. He was acting different than normal so I took him to the vet. He had tests done and was diagnosed with "Chronic Renal Failure" (Kidney Failure). The vet told us to keep him in the house permanantly and so we are. He is now on Subq fluids, which is injected under the skin and we do this at home everyday. He is in the late stages so now we just make him as comfortable as we can and try to keep it as quiet as possible,. It's just a matter of time now. I had a veterinarian come to our home to have her put my little Six to sleep on July 3,2006. He told me that it was time to rest and so now he is in peace and I miss him very much. We also just lost another cat; Sam; who I think was hit by a car the way he acted.
My Kids:
I have a daughter from my first marriage; her name is JaNet. I also have 3 pretty granddaughters. Their names are: Felicia, Elizabeth, & Summer.
We recently (June 2004) had to have our dog put to sleep due to illnesses.His name was Tiger. He would have been 10 in August 2004. He was a purebred Pekingese with papers. He will be missed very much.
I've always lived in Oregon. I can't see living anywhere else at this time.
My favorite job I had was working on a ranch. I had fun working with horses and also rode one to give her daily exercise.She was a retired Grand Champion. I did many different things there besides horses. I started out just cleaning their house once a week then more chores became a full time plus job.
