Patricia's Story
Life
Hi! Retired from the Tacoma Public Library in the Technical Services/Catalog Dept. October 1, 2007. I had been working full time at the library since 1979, and been in that Department since 1981.
My husband Bob & I have been married 42 years this last January. I have 4 children from a previous marriage-- 2 sons and 2 daughters. Bob has 1 daughter from a previous marriage, and we have a daughter together. All together, we have 13 grandchildren--the oldest 35, who is working as a licensed beautician, and the youngest 21 month old grandson Logan.
My oldest daughter, Mary and husband Eric have started their own business called Driven For Life, and are living in Puyallup, Washington. They had both previously worked for Rapport International, with headquarters in Las Vegas NV, and who specializes in Leadership classes. Bob and I have taken some Leadership classes and the experience was really awesome! It has given us a new and closer relationship and a fresh approach to life. Our oldest son Jeffery is living in Tucson AZ, and our son Phil moved to Henderson, Nevada to find employment after graduating from the University of Washington with a Chemical Engineer degree. He is now a manager of a chemical plant in Sacramento, California. Our daughter Deanna and family are living in Tacoma, and our youngest daughter Teresa is living in Milton, Washington. She is now married with two boys. At the moment, all of our children are enjoying their own lives, and Bob and I are alone, and moved to Buckeye, AZ in 2011. Wow, we have now been here over 9 years! Definitely a new adventure in life!
We enjoyed a trip in May 2006 to Florida. We stayed on Anna Marie Island, which is on the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida, and Bob & I lucked out in staying at a timeshare condo on the beach. We had a sibling reunion which included my 3 brothers and sister. This was really great, as we ...Expand for more
had not all been together since 1985 when my Mother passed away. It gave us a chance to get reacquainted, relive some of our memories, and bring us up to speed on our lives today. Sadly my brother Richard passed away in Feb 2011. I greatly miss him, and am thankful for the times that we were able to be together.
We have had the opportunity to take a few trips, and enjoyed visiting family in Arizona and California.
I suffered a heart attack in May 2010, and had a stent placement. Since then I have had various other ailments, and my husband has also suffered some ill health. (September 2011: We are stressing out right now with our move to AZ... we have lived in this house for 32 years, so is a major move for sure! Next week we will be on our way to a new life and with much less in the way of belongings. On our way to flying free... )
I rejoined a year ago to check out friends, but am finding it really difficult to communicate. I know that I posted messages, but can't find them when I go back in. My friends and classmates can find me on Facebook these days.
June 2019:
Bob and I have lived in Buckeye, AZ, near Phoenix, for 8 years this October 1st. Our son Philip is now living in California with wife and daughter, and manages a chemical plant in Sacramento. Our youngest daughter is married and is expecting her second little boy in a few days. We now have 13 grandchildren...5 boys & 8 girls. We have been blessed with 4 great grandchildren...1 girl and 3 boys. Wow who would have thought? I am visiting family in Washington, and getting my green fix. 😊
April 2020:
A little disjointed in comments, as I deleted some things to update, then saw that I had already updated some lol.
I hope that all are well during this covid-19 pandemic. A sad and scary time. Keep safe and think safe please!!
I have paid for a year membership, so should see any messages left. 💞☺️
