Christy's Story

Life has been good. Don and I just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary and we have two beautiful children, Grace 4 and Mac 3. We love to travel and do family things. Grace is very energetic and loves learning to read, Mac he has ever die cast car from the movie Cars and plays with them all the time. Grace has a late b-day so she won't start public school kindergarten this year but will be going to private school and is enjoying her Spanish lessons. Mac starts preschool in the fall. He loves to play with other kids ... his sister can be awfully bossy. We enjoy spending our summers in Michigan during the different picking seasons... blueberry season currently and if it weren't raining we would be there today. They both love sports and love to sit on the bench with their Dad's HS volleyball team. I'm in my seventh year working as a union rep for the Illinois Education Association. asked to the republican National Convention and I'm excited about going and wearing my NEA for Obama shirt. We definitely have interesting conversations around the topic of politics. We are hoping to move by the end of the next school year, our house is being bought by a development so it doesn't really leave us an option. We are trying to decide if we are going to stay in the area or make a big move. Time will tell and it is in God's hands. I'm quite happy that Don does not have a tourney the weekend of our reunion and I look forward to attending. I'm shocked at how much the community has changed over the years. I have been back to Sterling a lot this year for different things, one included going with Lorraine (Lyon) Kunde to the Dennis DeYoung concert at Clinton Riverboat days. Seemed like yesterday we were listening to the music of Styx on the "Boom Box" at a track meet!!! I hope if you are reading this it finds you healthy and well. Remember to cherish every day!!!
