Debra's Story
Life
I have been married to my husband, Bart, since 1997 and have two daughters and one step-daughter. My daughter Sabrina was born in Dec. 1998 in Portland, OR and our newest child, Athina, was born April 2001 in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Bart's daughter, Kristen, lives in Eastern Washington and spends summers with us. Bart, Sabrina and I moved to Saudi in January 2000 for Bart to work at the Jubail Saline Water Conversion Plant (makes drinking water out of sea water). Living in Saudi has been an adjustment, but we have made some good friends here and Bart is learning some Arabic! We hope to stay here for five to ten years..granted that we get another job with a good company. We come home to Por...Expand for more

Before coming to Saudi I had graduated in 1988 from Western Oregon State College with a Bachelors in Fine Art and a minor in Business Admin. Didn't really do much with the Art degree and went into Office Management. I worked for the State Of Oregon, Children's Service Division for eight years. My last position was Office Manager of the St. Johns Branch in Portland. I enjoyed working with social workers and miss working IN GENERAL a lot, but dont miss the layers and layers of burearacy (sp?) and low pay in government work. Now I am a full time mom and spend my time trying to entertain my little kiddos.
