Brian's Story

Life I was born and raised in Bayonne, and visit there as often as I can. I have many a cousin who still lives there. After graduating Bayonne High School in 1970, I worked in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Strand Book Store, and then traveled to France and Ireland. I returned to the United States in 1974 and entered the U.S. Air Force. I served in the Air Force from 1974 to 1980, and was stationed in Texas, Zaragoza, Spain, and at Loring Air Force Base in Maine. I settled in Maine and attended the University of Maine where I took my B.A. in European History in 1986. After doing graduate work in History, I decided to enter the field of law. In 1989, I married Katherine Whedon in Bangor, Maine. We were divorced in 2000. In December, 1990, my Army National Guard unit was deployed overseas for nine months during Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Provide Comfort. I returned to Maine in August, 1990 and attended the University of Maine School of Law in Portland, Maine. After graduation and successfully completing the bar examination in 1994, I entered the general practice of law with a law firm in Orono. After that partnership dissolved, I entered into a new partnership with a law office in Bangor, specializing in real estate, property, business, and bankruptcy law. After the death of my partner early in 2002, I opened my own law practice and title company in Bangor. I have also continued my association with the Maine Army National Guard, where I now serve as Staff Judge Advocate to the 52nd Troop Command, Bangor, Maine. I have two sons, Patrick (19) and Conall (13), who live with me, and who are one of the delights of my life. I married my lovely wife, Elisabeth (the other delight of my life) in 2001 at St. John's Church in Bangor, Maine. She is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and received her M.S. from that institution in 1996. She is a fifth grade teacher in the Orono school syste...Expand for more
