Thomas's Story

Started high school at Pulaski High in New Britain. Transferred to Gilbert in my senior year. Moved to South Carolina about 30 years ago. Have managed to be married three times...but the third time is apparently the charm. Live with my wife Lenora of 18 years on 22 acres in the country wilth six horses, three dogs, and three cats. Sometimes thinking of my high school days makes me melancholy. I am curious though about what happened to my classmates. I went t...Expand for more
o Pulaski the first two years and then transferred to Gilbert High in Winsted my senior year. Update....third time wasn't the charm after all. I'm single again after 20 years with #3. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I doubt there will be a #4. Our breakup has been fairly cordial and we still do horse things with her grandchildren, whom I consider to be my grandkids as well. We split up the farm and I kept 10 acres and nowadays pretty much keep to myself.

Me at my grand daughter
I recently took this picture out my back window. One of my cats was trying to extract a squirrel from his nest which is in that hole just below her....She didn't get him but she gets an A for effort. She is about 15 feet
The first year I started playing racquetball...wish I could still play but with two hip replacements, I retired from the game.
I love this picture of my mom firing a fastball at me at Fort Sam Houston in 1956...
State doubles racquetball championship tournament in Orangeburg SC, 1990...with Bruce Ritacco....

Had some visitors over for dinner last evening..
This is what the Brownsville border with Mexico looked in 1973 when we drove through on our way to Acapulco.
My grandparents on my mom's side
Some say, "how can you live in a barn?" So I can have lunch like this....
My cats love that wood burning stove....me too.
I'm really getting sick of this constant rain..It's turning everything into mud...yuck
In case anyone thinks I am exaggerating about the rain here in SC I just took this picture of what used to be a pasture.....now its a river....
Does this weather front look familiar? Stolen from From Dave Barry's blog.
Got a load all split and stacked. I think it's Miller Time! I'm trying a different stacking pattern this year...it seems to let more air flow around the wood
My dad is on the right....three years after this, he was fighting in the hedges of Normandy...
Dave Gundlach...circa 1964...in front of the Strand
This, folks, is serious rain...I took this photo of the pasture
 moments ago...
Just came back from the store. our geese have just arrived at the pond....
The squirrels get to my bird feeder for their snacks, by hanging upside down....
