Karen's Story
Left Toledo for the Air Force in 76. After San Antonio (basic training) and Wichita Falls (tech school), I was assigned to the 56th Tactical Fighter Wing in the dual role of Computer Analyst and Security Police. Weird, I know!
1980 moved me to Gunter AFS at Montgomery Alabama. The only a Computer Analyst there. Moved to Piedmont Aviation in Winston-Salem NC. A year later, divorce and a new job as a contractor to Pitney Bowes, then State of Pennsylvania, Subaru Pennsylvania again, DPW in Texas, GBI in Georgia...Expand for more
(weird place, state cops, crime labs, etc.). PA again, Navy in Maryland, IRS in D.C., State of Michigan, AT&T in St. Louis, omw, did I forget anybody?
Took the time in D.C. to become ordained.
Returned to Toledo where I am disabled and retired and a home owner. The last 28 years living and traveling with a nurse who started by taking care of me, and now we do our best to take care of each other. Thankfully we have pretty good health insurance to keep us relatively independent. I wish we were rich, though! LOL!
