Donna's Story
Life
With the death of my father in 1976, we moved to Michigan. I would have went to Vashon High in St. Louis, MO. I would have graduated in 1980. My mother moved all 6 of us to Michigan. I completed High School and married. I completed my A.A.S. degree in 1986. I am the mother of four children, ages 28,27,22, and 14. I am currently employed as a Medical Assistant for a University Health Center and I completed my Bachelors degree in April of 2005. My NO# 2 son and I graduated in April of 2005 with undergrad degrees. We were front page news with the both of us walking in the same ceremony. Now the race is on to see who finishes first for their master's degree. I am now completing my Master's Degree in Public Administration with a health care focus. Graduation is set for April 2008. The Kid, Son #2 is finishing his Master's in Fine arts in March of 2008. Me, I will probably manage a healthcare facility or some other upper level management for a hospital maybe. The Kid, you will probably start seeing his face on T.V. or even in a movie or two. (he wants to be in pictures). Son #1 works as a project manager for a major banking institution, Daughter #1 is...Expand for more
currently working in a research department. Son # 3, blows the meanest Sax you ever wanted to hear and holds the first chair in band as a freshman, none the less. With the expectation of graduation, and being down to the last Mohican, I am ready to move. Michigan was a great place to raise kids, but now I am ready to move on. I am looking outside of this state for a good job. The rest of the family are all doing fine. Veloria, Monica, Yolanda, Vernon and Lawrence all live here in Michigan as well (MOM too!!). I think we are all within an hours drive from each other, less in most cases. We, (My sisters and I) have been talking. We think that next year (summer) will be a great time to come and visit in St. Louis. I have concluded that life has not been too bad (so far). I really thank God for all his intervention, on mine and my family's behalf. I believe, and yet have faith. Life in all it's trials can be pretty tough. I thank God because he has always been there, even when I had the nerve to question. Do you believe that! He yet carries me,and mine and I believe. Enjoy the pictures. I will try to get more posted of the rest of the family. God Bless!!
