Brian's Story

Life bmeehan at binarydaze dot net My wife, Danielle, and I live in Hilton, NY, a suburb of Rochester. We have a son, Jeffrey, who keeps us busy and entertained. I spent 8 years with Eastman-Kodak before returning to RIT to continue my studies. Graduation in 2007 was followed by my employment with Innovative Solutions, a technology consulting firm. Danielle works in organ transplant for Strong Memorial Hospital. We've both been active in our local volunteer ambulance service. We enjoy dining out and going to movies & concerts. Feel free to drop an email anytime. -Brian School Teacher(s) who inspired me most: Mr. Barber, Mr. Laboda, Mr. Bohmaker, Mr. Hurd, Mrs. Collette, Mr. Arcuri, Mr. Pierce Crazy moments: Jeff Capen and I wearing dresses to our French Regents exam; Jumping off the canal bridge each year at finals week; skipping class with Mike Candido and lugging the band equipment above the stage in the old cafeteria to "jam out" for the rest of the afternoon; Damn I had some long hair. Things I miss: Being able to sign "TC"; Bringing home most of the band room for the Summer; The dry sense of humor of Mr. Kazlo; "April!"; The misfits table at lunch; Answers Please Workplace When I moved to Rochester, I started with Eastman-Kodak Co. on March 17, 1997 and remained an employee with them until I resigned on Oct 4, 2005. My first position was in technical support for the Kodak Picture Maker. After a while I moved on to archive...Expand for more
equipment for the government and then to Entertainment Imaging, supporting the TRIP system, aka the roller coaster cameras. Language skills were important (Thanks, Mr. Laboda) and allowed me to work as a translator for the call center. When things started looking shaky there, I moved to the Wholesale Digital Photofinishing group as a Service Engineer. I had alot of fun flying around the country and supporting over 100 installations in the US and nearly 300 worldwide. During this job I met my wife and on our wedding day, my best man dropped me a job offer with another Kodak start-up project, NexPress. A year later, as wholesale photo began to dwindle from its former glory, I took a job with NexPress as a Professional Services Engineer. Again, I bounced around the country and learned alot about the printing industry. In 2004, Kodak announced that it would be buying out the NexPress project and we would all be absorbed. Danielle and I decided that it would be a good time for me to get out, so I packed up my things and enrolled to go back to school (RIT). I gradutated from RIT with a degree in Networking, Security & Systems Administration and have about 1/2 of my master's degree completed as well. In the last few months of my academic pursuits, I met Bob Titus and Justin Copie from Innovative Solutions at an RIT-hosted job fair. We hit it off during my interview and I started working for them in May of 2007 as a Senior Network Engineer.
