Betty's Story

This site is in addition of course to the official site of marionites.com. You can also find me at awesome1322.webs.com for my wedding photography and on facebook as Bettie Williams Wallace. Look to see you on either site. I am spending time writing a book now that is simply delightful! I had earlier started a book three or four years ago but due to the emotionality of the book, I have not been able to bring it to an end. With seven chapters under my belt - I had to put it aside. Since then, I've started a delightful book! It's a book that will be written for the joy of my life, my granddaughter Mickeilah. And, guess what - my "working title" is just that. "Letters to Mickeilah". It will be my legacy to her. She can read it when she becomes of age and of course prior to that I can read her some of the stories that might "peak her interest". Somehow, I was privileged to have someone "adopt me" as their mentoree and I am simply "pleased as punch" about it! She said to me one day, "Bettie why are you struggling over this one book? Although I realize you want to tell that other story, why must you tell it now? Tell it when you're ready and apparently, you're not ready so why don't you write something that you would enjoy talking about?" Spending those few minu...Expand for more
tes with her has opened my eyes to the fact that I have many stories within me to tell that would flow on a page like the rivers and that when I put my mind to it - it is as well as done! She was right, because since I have started this new book to my granddaughter, it has been much easier to watch my desire come to fruition. We've all got stories within us - whether or not we want to tell them is another story!! I have been writing for a very long time - since I was a teenager. Do I consider myself one of the greatest writers of the world? Not necessarily and it doesn't matter -I've got stories to tell and my little girl gives me the needed "focus and inspiration" and I'm doing it not only for myself but for her and my family as well. The book is being written out of love. My goal and purpose is NOT seeking fame and fortune, or even making it to the best seller's list for that matter - however, if it lands there that would be "icing on the cake." I simply want to tell my little lady about stories of my love for her, about love of herself and others, love of family, faith, and perseverance in a way only I can tell it. My goal is simply to get my book published in my lifetime and in the hands of my granddaughter and any others (family or friends) who would enjoy reading it. I've decided that I will hold onto my dreams and make them come true which is one of the greatest gifts I can give to my granddaughter, my family and to myself. When I've become a (published Author), hopefully by year's end, I hope you will take the opportunity to take a peek and tell me what you think. Peace and love to you all. Author Bettie Jean
