Life A little history: The summer after graduation I started at UNA and worked for a small company called COMPASS that used computers as a way to locate used auto parts. A year later I started working at Listerhill Credit Union as a computer operator on the 4:00pm to midnight shift. I worked at Listerhill until 1984. I left there to go to Birmingham and work for a company called Tymshare. They were in the banking software business. They did not hold up their end of the deal, so I came back to Muscle Shoals and started back working for COMPASS. I stayed full time with them for about 2 years before accepting a job with ANCO Management in Florence. This is the company that owns Bookland, Books-A-Million, Hibbett Sporting Goods. I stayed with them until 1989 when COMPASS called me back. They were expanding and wanted me to head up the computer department. I jumped at the chance.
