Anita Vasarhely:  

Life Anita and Joe Vasarhely are community leaders in the city of Pinole. Joe is Captain of the Alumni Football team for De Anza. Our children; Joey is 45, Desiree was 23 (she passed away August, 06), and Benny was 21 (he passed away from bone cancer May 15th, 2008). They have gone to Pinole Valley instead of De Anza. I retired from WCCUSD as the Office Manager for Valley View Elementary School after 34 years . I retired January 1st 2020 but I signed up to be a district substitute so I’m still working for them. Joe retired from PG&E after 40 years as a Gas Crew Foreman in 2021. He was also the relieving Richmond T&D Supv.) (He has earned awards from his job for heroic deeds). I enjoyed Girl Scout Leadership (I placed the first insignia of Girls Scouts in the West Contra Costa cities on the City of Pinole's entrance, they are the round disks you see when you enter a city),Class of 1977 Reunion Coordinator, Fashion Show Coordinator, Football Alumni Coordinator, PTA parent, City of Pinole fundraiser, YLI fundraiser, St. Joseph's Annual Oktoberfest Coordinator, Administrator for WCCUSD. Our boys have played football, baseball, and raced motorcycles well. Our daughter was involved in community work, modeled in the fashion shows, and loved working with children. Joe and I bought a little league baseball team "Vasarhelys GIANTS", and were team owners/managers. Our teams have gone to the All Star Tournaments and won division titles. We celebrated our 45th Wedding Anniversary this year. School I was a student who really enjoyed high school. The people I met were great, the fun times I had being a teenager were memorable, the classes I took I enjoyed. The proms, the games, the hallway (oh yeah!) out back, in front, the rally's.
