Sandra's Story

Life After leaving "Pal-Mac" I attended two other high schools before graduating in 1967 from Sparta, Pa. Returned to New York and eventually migrated south to Georgia. I was the Operations Manager of a Data Center in the Health Care arena. Computers have been my main interest since the late 70's. I was responsible for 180+ servers in a 24 hr 7 day a week operations in a Medical Center that comprises 5 hospitals, 4 nursing homes and multiple clinics in a 190 mile radius. However, as I was going to turn 62yo, I just could not imagine myself crawling on the floor running cables and every thing else I did to run the Data Center when I was younger. Ergo, I changed jobs and became the manager of the User Support Center. Along...Expand for more
with this responsibility I also took the 24x7 support with me. I manage 10 technicians. I was always interested in this side of computing however found the Data Center a good line for my talents. I 'was' married for 26 years with no children but as I said, the computers became my center of attention. I have learned to cast a line quite well fishing, along with deep sea fishing as I am located 2 hours from the Gulf, play golf and learning to become a marksman with a 22 pistol. I love to travel ... I used to spend every winter on cruises throughout the Caribbean. Now I have migrated a little north to Duck, North Carolina at the "Outer Banks" for vacations. 2014--I have retired..Enjoying every day as a "vacation day"
