Carla's Story
Hi everyone. Since leaving NHHS, my life has been on an upswing. I went to work for six months before going off to the University of Arizona. I pledged AEPhi and became active on campus. I was in Angel Flight and was a Golden Heart of Sigma Phi Epsilon. I was selected as one of the "10 Best Dressed Coeds." I received a service award from the Associated Students. A. "Scotty" Herd, a Realtor and Real Estate Consultant. I immediately became the mother of a daughter and three sons. In 1982 I stopped teaching and became involved in the LA Zoo, first as a general volunteer and then as a docent. I retired after 20 years. My husband and I work together in his consulting business. We consider ourselves very lucky. I am a cancer survivor and help other women going through the process. That is very rewarding. Scotty and I love movies, reading and going out to dinner. We also travel as much as possible.
