Karen's Story
Life
I live in Elk Grove with my two children...Jake and MacKenzie. They bring me such happiness and I'm so proud of them. We have a yellow lab and two cats. Suburban heaven!! I'm lucky enough to only work part time right now so I can spend most of my time with them. My son is now thirteen and my daughter just hit double digits! How time flies.

y at home mom. When we moved up to Elk Grove and the kids were a little older I went to work for Sutter Health Telecommunications and worked there for a couple of years. Then I went into a business partnership with my brother in law, Frank Fagundes, and we opened a Mr. Pickle's Sandwich Shop in Carmichael. That kept us very very busy for a year. We were able to sell it and I decided to take some time off. He has opened several more up in the greater Sacramento area and is doing great. I chose not to own a business again...too much commitment!! Now I work at the Elk Grove Unified School District as a substitute in the human resources department. So I can work when I want.
