Heather's Story

Life Ok, so I think this is kind of cheesy, but a blank bio is too. I've been married since 1994, we have two kids, a girl and a boy. We have one Yorkie, (the last two were potty factories that didn't understand "it" went outside), and the kids named her Angel. I am a Pharmacy technician level 2 (at Meijer) and am studying for my level 3 test and am also studying to become nationally certified. I have also completed a degree at NMC. I am still homeschooling the kids and that is going well. Our oldest, Hanna, is taking French with a private tutor and has completed the first year within 6 months. Her teacher has moved her to the second year already. She has also taken piano for the last 4 years. Our son, Isaiah, has yet to find an instrument he likes. He didn't like the piano and wants to learn German after two years of Spanish. I am still close to all three brothers and they are all married. My oldest brother, Shane, is now a grandfather twice over. :) Both of his daughters are married. His youngest, Tina, has completed her nursing degree recently. Ty and his wife,Raine have a 3 year old and a twin boy and girl. They still have mom's red hair and blue eyes. :) Ty is still in the Army and is in Germany after having been deployed to Afghanistan for a year. He will be returning stateside later this year. (2012) Zech is also married and has two boys (7yrs. and 4yrs.) :)He and his wife, Stacy, just moved to TC this year. My parents divorced several years ago and remain on good terms. We celebrate many holidays together, including this past Christmas. Thanksgiving was interesting. We'll just leave it at that. My father suffered a massive stroke last spring and subsequent neurosurgery. He is doing amazingly well and has retained full functionality of all his f...Expand for more
acilities. It's a medical miracle, really. The doctors were amazed considering the severity of it. I'm just glad to still have him around. As for hobbies, I love to read and currently have about five books going of non-fiction. I've pretty much given up on fiction books. They're just too predictable and thus not enjoyable. What fun is it to read a book when you've figured it out early on? :) I love to watch all types of movies, especially documentaries. We have turned off our tv though. We disconnected the sat./cable/local, and we don't have a converter box either. We do have Netflix Wii though and we have been trying out Hulu. It's been much quieter around here and I like that. I also like doing science experiments with the kids, especially ones that are gooey. We are now into biology and the dissection experiments are coming up. I (and Hanna) are really looking forward to that. She is also excited about starting Chemistry next year. That she did NOT get from me. LOL! However, I'm glad she enjoys it! I like bowling, hiking, bike-riding, fishing, canoeing and camping. In the summer, I frequently take the kids out for hikes in the woods and visits to museums. We do go camping every summer with Mom, Shane, Zech, and their families. It's lots of fun and we all look forward to it. I bought a huge tent for this year and we can't wait! I often wonder what other people have done since high school. I like getting on here and reading other people's bios to see what people have been up to. My current photo is courtesy of my niece from Thanksgiving. She took it of my daughter and me. My favorite song is "I Told You So" by Carrie Underwood. I still like the Carrie Underwood song. It just makes me wonder. Wondering is part of what keeps your brain alive and active. :)
