Bradley's Story

Life My life began full force after high school. I joined the Marine Corps during my senior year and left for Parris Island the July after graduation. After returning to the Upstate I learned that my girlfriend from right after prom, Rebecca Mays (Pendleton HS '97), and I were going to have a baby. She gave birth to my daughter, Lydia Danielle, in March 1998. I joined the Army Reserve shortly before my son, Benjamin Wesley Alec, was born in November 2000. I have been very employed by the Army ever since. My wife and I live together in Anderson in the Hartwell Lake community off I-85S and SC 187N. We have been married almost 8 years. In 2006, I will be moving away from SC probably for good as I go active duty. It's been fun South Carolina, but Texas (my real home state) calls me home! School Well, the questions above certainly do spin thoughts! My biggest crush was, of course, the girl I could never have (which is always the way!): Leslie Bond. My favorite and most inspiring teacher was Dewey Parr who taught US History my junior year. I don't think I've written more sentences on notebook paper for calling him by his first name in my lifetime (at least 10,000 total). Playing soccer, wrestling, cheerleading for powder-puff... it was the time of my life. I remember Rachael Caswell's afterschool parties and some of those crazy times... gosh it's been so long... memories are scarce. I remember prom vaguely and graduation. I would NEVER change anything from school tho... it has molded me into the person I am today. College I haven't had time for college......Expand for more
. too many wars! Someone become President and give me a break! Workplace Aside from the momentary retail service between the Marine Corps. and the Army Reserve, if you want details of my workplace and locations... click on my military BIO. Military Well for all of you who are extremely interested in a BIO for me: I joined the US Army Reserves back in September of 2000. Awarded the rank of PFC from the start, I left for Fort Benning and BCT (Basic Combat Training). After Fort Benning, I was sent to Fort Gordon and Signal School. I was then assigned to the 457th Chemical Battalion in Greenville, SC (Donaldson Center) where I was sent to PLDC and promoted to SPC. As soon as I came back from PLDC I was immediately transferred to the 310th Chemical Company and mobilized to deploy for Operations Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom. I spent 8 months in an overseas combat zone for Enduring Freedom and 17 months at a CONUS duty station for Noble Eagle. I was demobilized in December 2003 and in March 2004 was reassigned to 391st Eng Bn. in Greenville, SC. I was promoted to SGT in June of 2004 and attended BNCOC(Phase I) in November 2004. I have been in Afghanistan since April 2005. I have served in places such as: Bagram Air Field, Jalalabad Air Field, Asadabad PRT, FOB Orgun-E , Sharana PRT (Kearney Base), FOB Salerno and Ghazni. On January 15th, 2006 I was promoted to Staff Sergeant. It's been a wild nine months! I am returning on/about April '06. If anyone wants to get together let me know! SSG Bradley Coffey B/391st Eng.
