Cynthia's Story
After high school graduation, I entered college at West Liberty State College in West Virginia, where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1977. I returned to Sandusky and worked in private practice dentistry for a year and a half. In 1978 I married and moved to Ada, Ohio, where I worked in a private dental office for over 20 years. In 1994 I became a single mom and then returned to college in 1997. I earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of Findlay in 2001. I left private practice dentistry and began teaching full time at a local college in 2005. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene at Rhodes State College. I love working with students and being able to help them realize their dream, as well as having a positive influence on their future. Now for the really good stuff.... I have two grown daughters! rapist, (specializing in counseling children). "Proud" really does not do justice to what I feel about them!!! Both girls are married; one lives close to me and the other is an hour and a half away. I also have a 14 year old grandson who is the apple of my eye! I love attending his sporting events, choir and band concerts. Yep. I am actually getting an education in football!!! After years of attending the games, I have had an attitude change and now pay attention to the game. I used to think it was nice of the football team to entertain before and after half time. Not so anymore. It's a different story when your grandson is on the field with the football. Who knew? Music still runs in the family, however. I still love it, although I haven't quite acquired a taste for country or opera yet! Ha! I do get opportunities to travel, as a result of my job and professional associations. That's one of the perks. All in all, life is good!
