Anne Marie's Story
After graduating from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, I enlisted in the US Army to pursue a career in Military Intelligence. After a few years enlisted, I applied for and was accepted to Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, GA. I received my 2nd LT bars in Feb 1986. I met my husband when we were both assigned to the same unit in Harrisburg, PA in 1989. We will have been married for 19 years this December 2009.
After being stationed in Germany, we were assigned to Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX in 1995. We love South Texas and have been here ever since (I am a Texas gal at heart). quickly risen through the ranks at USAA.
I got out of the Army in 1998 and have worked for Electronic Data Systems (based out of Plano) ever since. For those who don't know, this is the company that Ross Perot founded. We were recently bought by HP (Hewlett Packard) where I continue to work as an Instructional Designer and web-based trainer from home.
Both my husband's family and my family have all moved down to San Antonio. It was pretty funny that as our father's, mother's, brother's, uncles and sister's would visit, they all fell in love with the area and moved here, so we are blessed to have all of our family around us.
God has truly blessed our lives and we continue to give thanks to him every day for the blessings he has given us.
