David's Story
Words I live by: Always Remember This:
You don't stop laughing because you grow old,You grow old because you stop laughing!!!
I've had a lot of reasons to laugh over the years. I wish I could call all these wrinkles were actually "Laugh Lines."
My professional has been somewhat exciting. No stranger to crisis communications, I've handled numerous crisis situations including terrorist bombings, hostage situations, kidnappings, murders, plane crashes, hazardous chemical spills, tornadoes, hurricanes Hugo and Andrew and a few top level management scandals.
Here's a chronology of my professional life:
1966-1987: United States Air Force
1987-1993: Department of the Air Force. Deputy Chief of Public Affairs at Shaw Air Force Base, SC during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm

1996-1998: Partner, Bungalow Ventures
1988-2000: Media Specialist, U.S. Census Bureau Charlotte Regional Office

2008 to Present: Enjoying retired life at our new home in Calabash, NC, four miles from the Atlantic Ocean.
Married for the 2nd time in September 2000 to the absolute love of my life. Because of her, I keep smiling and laughing. I have two grown sons. One is a CPA in Raleigh, NC. The other is a computer guru in Richmond, VA. Both were Winthrop Univ., Rock Hill, SC graduates.
I always wanted to be a journalist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.
