Karin's Story
Life
Bill and I have been married for close to 32 years. We are blessed with five sons, James, 28 today, in his third year of residency, Tom, 25 who just passed the Florida BAR, Mike, 23 is a Pharm. Drug Rep., Dan, 21, is a senior majoring in business and MIS, and William is a freshman in college. Tom and Carrie have blessed us with a grandson, Zachary, who is almost two years old.
My mother, Margaret Major Thornburg Class of 1932, passed away in 1993. She suffered from Alzheimer's disease for a number of years. Dad passed away right after Christmas in 1998.
I am the Dade County Council PTA/PTSA President and keep busy with over 300 schools and 56,850 members, 360,000 students to serve. My two year term will end June 1, 2002.

entering the hospital when I returned to be diagnosed with a possible brain tumor. I did not tell my mom which was difficult, but felt I did not need to worry my parents before we knew for sure. We were lucky as it was an AVM and two aneurysms which would require surgery. Shortly after, we found out we were exspecting our fifth child. Long story short, three months after he was born, which was a miracle that he and I were alive, I underwent over nine hours of brain surgery. Well my dear friends I made a deal with the man upstairs, that if he let our last son live and let me live to continue raising our five sons I would dedicate my life to children. That is why I am doing what I do and loving every minute.
We learned life is short and enjoy our blessings each day.
May God bless each of you, and know that I think of you often.
